Hey everyone,

This post is to inform all those 100,000,000,000 or more Halo 3 fans. The Legendary Map Pack is out, and I'm going to review it to show if it's worth buying. The Legendary Map Pack only has three maps, but Bungie promises to add more to it. The three maps: Avalanche, Ghost Town, and Black Out. All three maps for 800 Microsoft Points (10 US$ for 1000 Points).

Avalanche: 10/10 Rating. This remake of the Halo classic, Sidewinder, is worth every buck. Its the biggest map ever created, about twice the size of Vahalla, and 10 times more fun. Avalanche has two two story bases. On the sides of these bases are strategically located MG turrets. Players start out with an Assault Rifle, and inside the base, players can find SMGs, Battle Rifles, Frag Grenades, Spike Grenades. Outside of the base in the snow are the weapons: Sniper Rifle, Brute Spiker, Plasma Grenade, Needler, Rocket Launcher, Missile Pod, and equipment like Trip Mines can be found in many places. This vast map is filled with all vehicles except for the Transport Hog and the Brute Chopper.

CTF is or Big Team Battle are perfect if you love them. Both bases have a pair of Warthogs, perfect and fun for Hog Battles. One base will have a Ghost, which leads instantly to Splattering fun, and the other will have a Mongoose. One base will also have the Wraith, that blows shit up instantly and can lead to domination in the map. But Bungie tried to make these maps fair, so the other base (the one wthout the wraith) have a Scorpion to aid them. Both sides have Hornets, which lead to massive air battles. This map has everything.

Sniper N00bs will be pleased to know that there is a Sniper Rifle located where people spawn or jump from Grav lifts, leading to a fun headshot game. Vehicle N00bs will also be happy to man the tanks, and dominate the other team. Teamwork is a fun strategy, and can lead to great Theatre moments.

VERDICT: BUY

Ghost Town: 5/10 I'm not a big fan of this. Ghost Town is probably the worst map throughout the entire Map Pack. Why? The areas are really screwed up. Imagine Foundry and Rats Nest, except someone blew the shit out of each of them. Ghost Town is one hella confusing place, because its a medium sized map, but the places are so vast that it gets annoying. Two story towers are fun, and you'll be really annoyed to find that you have to travel the entire map and hitting corners to find the enemy. The weapons are strategically placed, but isn't that great. Sniper Rifles have been put in places where the sniper is revealed by the map. Bungie tried to make Ghost Town a really fair map, and decided to take out cover in where a sniper could hide. You will also be annoyed by people who basically dominate the entire map with the rocket launcher. The rocket launcher in Ghost Town pretty much KILLS everything. The Mongoose is rendered useless, because your side seater needs a good weapon to kill someone, and everyone pretty much goes for the Rocket Launcher. Same thing...everyone also heads for the sword or the shotgun, making this map extremly annoying. Ghost Town is an open place, but the covers and buildings make it close combat fight, allowing sword and rocket n00bs to dominate everone.

VERDICT: AVOID THIS MAP. DO NOT USE THIS MAP ON RANKED MATCHES. YOU WILL BE FRUSTRATED WITH THE AMOUNT OF N00BS WHO USE THE HEAVY WEAPONS...

Blackout: 8/10. Its a good map, but is another close combat map. Its basically one Huge-Ass building full of fun weapons. Making a swords only game is fun, because of the vast places one can hide. However, this map has the resemblence of Narrows, even though its based on Lockout. This is a good map for friends and ranked, and it really depends on who's playing it if they like it. Black out is good for stuff like Team Slayer or Swords.

VERDICT: IT DEPENDS. ITS A GOOD MAP IN MOST PEOPLE'S OPINION.
